Marbella is famous for its beautiful weather, but, like anywhere, Mother Nature does what she wants. Rain showers in the middle of summer, unusually strong winds, unexpected heatwaves or chilly evenings, they all happen (though not often), and when they do, we’re ready.
But it’s not just the weather. There are delayed flights, a missing wedding guest, or a power cut – we’ve seen it all. And every single time, the day went on beautifully because we always have a Plan B ready to go.
Planning for The Unexpected
Here’s a peek behind the scenes at the kind of scenarios we plan for, and how we keep everything on track:
Heatwaves or Hot Weather
Yes, the sun is glorious, but if you’re having a destination wedding when you’re coming from a place that’s a little cooler, it can sometimes be intense.
- From our initial consultations with you, we’ll talk about the time of year you’re looking to get married and discuss the pros and cons of the seasons with you, so you can make an informed decision.
- We help you choose shaded ceremony spots or provide parasols, fans and hydration stations to keep your guests comfortable.
- We can adjust the schedule to cooler parts of the day and even add soft draping or sail shades to dining areas to provide relief for you and your guests.
Rain (Yes, Even in Marbella)
It’s rare, but it can happen, and it doesn’t mean your day is ruined! The rainiest months tend to be between November and April, but it’s not possible to completely rule out a rainy summer day. But there’s no need to worry:
- We’ll always have a backup indoor or covered space ready to go at your venue.
- Some couples opt to put a tent on hold, a small fee for big peace of mind.
- We travel with clear umbrellas for those romantic rain-kissed photos, just in case.
Wind
A light breeze is lovely, but a gust knocking over your floral arch? Not so much!
- We only use trained professionals to set up every detail of your wedding. Our team secures all décor carefully, and we’ll adapt layouts and backdrops if wind picks up unexpectedly.
- For particularly exposed venues or areas where we know that the wind can be stronger, we’ll recommend sturdier styling options from the start.
- Like any reputable wedding planner, we’ve always got our eyes on the weather forecast! If we know that there is inclement weather coming in, we’re already creating a plan of action.
Travel Delays
For destination weddings, many of your guests may be travelling abroad to attend. If this is the case for you, we highly recommend telling your guests to arrange their travel plans well ahead of time and ensure that they’ll be arriving in good time, so they won’t miss out on your big day! Some couples opt for a wedding venue that includes accommodation, meaning you can all be together before or after the big day, minimising any potential travel disruption.
For those staying outside of the venue, we can also arrange transport shuttles, guest communication, and ensure that there’s flexible timing so no one misses the big moments.
